Please join us in celebrating the incredible achievement of our Appalachian State team in the CFA Institute Research Challenge! Congratulations to Keira Andrews, Carson Beane, Jack Parquette, Davis Pharr, and Brenden Wortman on their victory in the North Carolina competition finals today!
Next month, these students will proudly represent Appalachian State and North Carolina in the Sub-Regional round, competing for the Southeastern title. Their success is the result of countless hours of research, in-depth financial modeling, a meticulously crafted analyst report, and rigorous presentation preparation. They are excellent representatives of Appalachian State, and we are incredibly proud of them!
The team and I would also like to thank our CFA Industry Mentor, Mr. Patrick Wells, Dr. Delbert Goff, and past Appalachian CFA Institute Research Challenge team members. This success would not have been possible without the support of Mr. Wells, Senior Portfolio Manager at Broyhill Asset Management, combined with the foundation built by prior teams and Dr. Goff.
The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a global security analysis competition that begins at the local level. Appalachian teams have won thirteen out of seventeen years that the competition has been held in North Carolina. Appalachian is also the only university in the state to have reached the finals every year since the competition’s inception.
